Their fears have made AI a political priority: The Washington Post found policies on AI or data centers in 40% of US midterm campaigns, while AI sovereignty is one of the few consensus issues among French presidential candidates, Le Monde found. AI safety talks in the US Senate, however, have stalled, Semafor reported.
